The participants in the preparation program presented a project to increase the demand for government services, entitled “Loyalty program to accumulate points for the use of electronic services”, and it was chosen as the best graduation project presented by batch no. (15) of the preparation diploma program for public sector (preparation), as the idea – which was carried out by the trainees of E-government Authority – depends on the accumulation of points for each electronic transaction of financial type offered by e-government Authority, in order to encourage individuals and institutions to use these services, and in recognition to their clients.
Senior Director of Basic Development and Creative Learning at the Institute of Public Administration Mr. Mohammed Al-Saba’a explained that the idea of the loyalty program to accumulate points for using electronic services came to maintain the current existing customers of the e-government portal of users of financial services, on the other hand it is a way to attract other new users to increase access of using government services through the e-government portal, as this idea comes within the context of encouraging and promoting taking advantage of e-government services for more turnout to facilitate the transactions of citizens.
Mr. Al-Saba’a indicated that the Institute received in the previous period many development projects which are based on distinct ideas, which should be studied seriously and efforts should be exerted to get them to the appropriate relevant authorities, as these projects have the ability to change the reality of government work, while the Institute award for best project in the preparation program comes to brainstorm the new employees as they may experience difficulty in some of the procedures and services that impede the progress of work, and thus get a workable idea to resolve these various dilemmas to improve the quality of government performance.
Furthermore, three other projects have qualified to compete for the award, as the first project entitled (proposing legalization of business activity for government employees in the Kingdom of Bahrain), which seeks to provide an opportunity for government employees in particular, to engage in commercial activity in addition to their functional duties, the second project was entitled (improving the service of the main operations room (999) to include the deaf and blind people in the Kingdom of Bahrain), which aims to create a smooth communication way between the group of deaf and blind and the main operations room (999), while the third project was on (compound information chip) that is linked with the satellites and the database at the traffic department to reduce the risk of accidents and theft.
It is worth mentioning that the preparation diploma program for public sector employees was designed to spread awareness about the government work through the various units to build a foundation that contribute to guiding the capacities and invest into the capabilities of the new employees, thus the graduation project is considered one of the main mechanisms adopted to determine trainees’ extent of knowledge of concepts that were presented in the program and measure the awareness and the application of them.
