The director of the Institute of Public Administration (BIPA) Dr. Raed Bin Shams stated that, under the patronage of His Royal Highness The Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, BIPA intends to host the 29th International Congress of Administrative Sciences, from 01-06 June 2013.
Bin Shams explained that this conference is considered one of the biggest scientific gathering of government administrative sciences in the world, where it will host a galaxy of international consultants, experts and professionals in national, regional and international public administration. The conference will be attended by more than 600 peoples, including ministers and officials of public service, academics and government directors from various countries around the world, especially from the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Arab countries.
Dr. bin Shams stressed that holding such joint conferences solidify and strengthen fraternal relations between the countries, in addition to supplying participants with information and variety of skills, as well as being a quantum leap in gaining benefits and government performance, also it is a quantum leap in the history of the Institute of Public Administration (BIPA), that BIPA obtained and gained the confidence of international institutions IIAS/IASIA, and the honour and privilege of organizing such a huge international conference in the Kingdom of Bahrain, hoping the conference will yield big positive results.
About the program of the conference, Dr. bin Shams explained the conference will be held for six days during which a tourism program will be included, and twelve various sessions will be held daily that will address a number of issues such as leadership, professionalism, and future of public administration.
Dr. bin Shams added the sessions will be presented by three international languages as follows: Arabic, English and French, bearing in mind that for the first time in the history of this conference the Arabic language is presented within the major languages of the conference, as well as papers of discussions and seminars will be presented in Arabic.”
Dr. bin Shams explained that the convening of such a conference in the Kingdom of Bahrain is a certification and international recognition of the extent of achievement and development in the government work and performance, which was witnessed by the state's ministries and authorities over the past years.
He added that the conference itself is a huge benefit and a real opportunity for the exchange of expertise and capacity development that are indispensable in the various fields of public administration, and thus work to develop the capacity of our people to serve the work of the government and society.
It is worth mentioning, that the 29th International Congress of Administrative Sciences of institutes of development and administrative sciences is held every three years, it is a joint conference between the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA), and the International Institute of Administrative Sciences IIAS. Both institutions are the biggest two international institutions that cater for training and developing government performance globally.
