Mrs. Ghada Shana’ah, Acting Executive Director of the Assessment Department at the Bahrain Pubic Administration Institute (BIPA), reasserted the fact that coaching is regarded as a pivotal element in building national leaderships capable of running the processes of work in the Kingdom of Bahrain. She further amplified stating that coaching is one of the fundamental mechanisms for realization of BIPA’s vision of “sophisticated government performance for sustainable development” as part of the 2016-2018 strategy whose target is to promote the government operations in the Kingdom of Bahrain through development of the institutional processes designed for effective contribution to the sustainable development. The speech came as part of the workshop organized by BIPA under the title of “AS Coaches…. How do we play” in collaboration with the International Coaching Association and Bahrain Training and HR Development Society as part of the International Coaching Week as envisaged to support organizations of training, coaching, consolidate coaching components, highlight its importance in the success and growth of institutions and its impact on supporting sustainable development and enriching the national economy.
She further underscored the fact that coaching works today on growing the resources and capabilities, development of the efficiencies of government leaderships by devising suitable plans for grooming employees in the government sector by means of personal and group coaching sessions, which produce positive effects on realization of the objectives sought from the government performance improvements. She added that BIPA is working hard within the framework of plans and strategies based on promoting innovative methods and approaches for rendering assessment and coaching services based on a methodology designed to gauge personal skills, detection of points of strength and possible areas of improvements and investment thereof in order to upgrade administrative and leadership skills.
Shana’ah described the training workshop as instrumental in acquainting the audience with the overall concepts of coaching, understanding the coaching process, definition of the success factors, introduction of the basic skills for the success of the coaching endeavour, knowledge of how coaching can be employed to enhance performance, improvement of the required abilities to conduct whole guidance sessions which will ultimately contribute to upgrading, developing and improving government performance based on the effective and proactive enforcement of the coaching sessions.
