52 participants of the 11th batch of the preparation diploma program for the public sector, which was introduced by the Institute of Public Administration (BIPA), presented program graduation projects, which were characterized by a great deal of creativity in developing ideas and precision in execution, that reflected the usefulness and the immense returns the participants acquired out of this program, which is considered the first of its kind in the region, where it focuses on preparing public sector employees to engage easily in their government work, by providing them with the basic tools of skills, attitudes and knowledge for working in the government sector, in addition to creating a culture of excellence in customer service in the government segment, and finally linking public sector employees with the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
Program Coordinator Mrs. Shaikha Butti indicated that one of the most important requirement of trainees graduation from preparation diploma program for public sector, is achieving graduation project successfully, and added “Through this project the trainee demonstrates the extent of knowledge and perception to the theories and learning outcomes of the program, where trainee reviews the relation of the developed project with the sessions of the program, as the projects submitted by participants have to be associated primarily with the objectives of the courses, in which they had participated during the period of the program, and also linked to the development of government action in general”.
Mrs. Butti clarified that the projects were presented in groups after forming teams from various ministries, each team choose project type and title”, and added “The projects presented by participants were varied between a case study through quoting real life situation or from the workplace, or suggestions for developing workflow processes through the making of a comprehensive report concerning a proposal to improve a certain workflow process, identifying benefits gained from learning outcomes for one or more of the program courses.”
Mrs. Butti revealed that the titles of the graduation projects presented by participants, included the following: smart residential compounds project, healthy food sale mechanism project, project on studying offering a room to help employees to discharge negative energy, provide law education to public sector employees, in addition to a project of developing typical building for retirees, tourism project for people with special needs, developing a model youth center project in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and finally a project on developing a system for the implementation of judiciary verdicts.
Mrs. Butti highlighted the distinctiveness of the projects presented in this batch, which received the approval and the consent of the Assessment Committee, for their innovative and creative ideas that serve the interest of government action development, and meet the essential needs to raise the level of services provided in the public sector.
Notably, the preparation diploma program for the public sector is one of the compulsory programs by the Civil Service Bureau (CSB), where the new government employee has to achieve in order to instate him in his government position. Furthermore, BIPA will receive the 12th batch participants next week.
