The Director General of the Institute of Public Administration (BIPA) Dr. Raed Mohammed bin Shams inaugurated the 8th batch of Preparation Diploma Program for government leaders “LEADERS”, which included in its new batch approximately 25 managers from various government agencies and ministries. This program comes within the programs stipulated by the National Strategy 2030, which seeks to develop the capacity of the new managers at the beginning of their administrative work, and create a network of communication between the various departments and ministries, in addition to raising the efficiency in the public sector based on the national responsibility shouldered by the Institute since the launch of the economic vision of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
During the program inauguration, Dr. Raed Bin Shams praised the outputs of this program, which was designed by Bahraini nationals and characterized by a local distinctive quality based on scientific principles and international quality standards depending on the Bahraini Leadership Model, which contains five key roles for manager as follows; defining the vision and leading the organization, development of individuals and developing their abilities, control the work of the organization and developing it, besides customer and partners care and achieving results.
Bin Shams explained that the leadership does not bring the job position which the individual is appointed in, but his ability to lead his team by his distinct personality and unique abilities, and added: “This program makes it easier for the manager to find what differentiate him and reveals his abilities and strengths, to make use of them in serving his ministry and his country.”
Then, Mrs. Shaima Al-Hamed of Information Affairs Authority talked about her experience through joining the 7th batch of “LEADERS” program, pointing out to the deep benefits grasped by graduates from the contents of the training program, which covers theoretical and practical aspects for all administrative sides in the government sector, so as to raise the level of awareness of the manager and develop his leadership skills in several necessary areas, in addition to the social relations network which was formed as a result of the daily contact and practical interactions with the participants in the program.
In the same vein, the program coordinator Mr. Osama Al-banky browsed the components of the program, which seeks to introduce to the participants the most important challenges that might face government leaders through providing the opportunity for managers to learn about the business requirements in an organized systematic fashion, by acquiring and teaching them a number of knowledge, skills and values that enable them to play their leadership role.
Mr. Al-banky indicated that the “LEADERS” program provides the required advice and guidance for the new manager in the first months of his appointment by specialized advisers who provide information in various aspects of administrative work, in addition to hosting many personalities in senior leadership positions and experienced people from both public and private sectors.
