The Institute of Public Administration announces the opening of registration again for the courses of public finance program, which was inaugurated last May under the patronage of the Minister of Finance HE Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa, in presence of a number of undersecretaries, assistants undersecretaries and senior officials in the financial sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain, where the program – which will be presented next year – comes in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance and in partnership with the Civil Service College in Singapore.
These courses are aimed for various levels, which will enable the trainee to participate in programs that will be launched later. The courses offered in the basic principles program of public finance, which will begin in October, are targeting specialists and technicians working in the government finance sector, where the participant will be able to identify the types of management reports and the applied performance indicators, besides being able to distinguish between the various components of received and spent financial flows which have an impact on public finances, and to identify inputs that support strategic planning budget management, and calculations of costing and pricing in the ministries.
The Following course is the financial planning of resources and mechanisms for performance and appraisal and the results are on November 11th, where it will addresses how to link strategic planning, with the resource planning and formulation of budgets plans, to find a typical way for setting up of budgets and understand the financial framework in the government sector and making of a direct link between performance management and organizational excellence in the government sector, and this course is targeting accountants besides the course of legal framework for operations and financial reporting in the government sector.
There are also two courses targeting heads and directors of finance in ministries and government bodies entitled building a culture of financial accountability on 27th November and strategic methodology in the management of financial resources on 18th November and the overall aim is to develop participants' skills and develop their abilities with respect to public finance.
It is worth mentioning that 80 trainees from various ministries and government agencies have completed the courses that were started earlier, and the doors are still open for those who missed out on some courses to complete the courses in the re-launch of these courses, which would entitle them to obtain professional certification in public finances after completion of the program's requirements in full.
