Senior Director of basic development and creative learning at the Institute of Public Administration Mohammed Al-Saba'a confirmed that the institute – in reality – has started the transition from the traditional classrooms to practical training classrooms, in a policy the institute seeks through to establish trainees to acquiring experience by training practices rather than providing them with theoretical information in the training halls without application, this came evident in the course entitled “arts of dealing with visual media” as participants were trained in the studios of Bahrain Credit Media Center at the University of Bahrain.
The course 'arts of dealing with visual media' emanated from the belief of the Institute of Public Administration in the importance of communicating and dealing with mass media, in this regard 15 participants from various ministries and institutions of public sector have finished this course, which lasted for 3 consecutive days, furthermore, the Institute sees the dire need of public sector employees to develop their skills through the application of best modern techniques and practices to ensure understanding of the most important principles and rules of dealing with different mass medias.
The aim of this course is to acquire the foundations of interviews and their different styles, and understand the rules of dealing with visual media, besides knowing the manner of good preparation for media interview through psychological and knowledge readiness, and developing methods of effective communication with various mass media and the public, also the course focused on applying skills of persuasion, promotion and attracting the attention of the public, as well as how to apply the correct techniques for dealing with embarrassing questions.
It is worth mentioning that the Institute of Public Administration earlier offered many media courses, and will offer this course again in next December, out of the Institute's keen desire to cover the media needs for public sector employees.
