The participants of the 12th batch of human resources program, which was introduced by BIPA, have finished 4 out of 6 basic units dealt with important topics, included; identifying the human resources, recruitment cycle management, building and development of talents, and performance management. About 23 employees working in human resources directorates, from various government ministries and authorities are taking part in this batch. The program is targeting this group because of its significant role in the development of government work, and facilitating the mechanism of work in departments, as well as achieving fairness in the application of laws and establishment of rights and duties. This program aims to enhance the skills of employees in the management of human resources in the public sector, in addition to introducing to them civil service laws in force in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and finally the definition of management information systems used to manage employees affairs in the government ministries and institutions.
Program Coordinator Mrs. Dana Al-bu’erki indicated that participants began their 5th unit which deals with occupational health and safety, where she said: “This unit highlights the importance of providing a safe and healthy workplace, as well as clarifying the purpose and applications of Australian occupational health and safety legislation, in addition to clarifying administration responsibility in regard to ensuring providing a safe and healthy working environment, and finally identifying different types of issues of occupational health and safety in the workplace.”
Mrs. Al-bu’erki pointed out that this program has started last August and will continue until the end of November, where participants have to finish a unit on measuring the effectiveness of human resources, which will elucidate the main measurement tools that contribute to making an impact on the work of human resource management, as well as understanding how to use qualitative and quantitative measurement tools, and finally understanding the concept of return on investment (ROI) and its practical application in identifying and proposing the value.
It is worth mentioning that this program in collaboration with the Australian Institute of Human Resources, thus to be an accredited training program in human resources aims to introduce to trainees the basics of human resources through the development of standards and capacity building for this profession.
