Dr. Sheikha Rana bint Isa: The Sustainable Development Goals are an essential element in all programs and initiatives of the Institute of Public Administration

Her Excellency Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Director General of the Institute of Public Administration, affirmed that the Institute is keen on expanding cooperation with the United Nations office in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in line with the national directions of the Kingdom aimed at achieving the comprehensive development goals under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the constant follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Her Excellency’s statement came during a meeting with HE Resident Coordinator of United Nations Activities in the Kingdom of Bahrain Khalid Al-Maqwad, accompanied by Mr. Firas Gharaibeh, Acting Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Her Excellency Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa Al Khalifa explained that the Institute of Public Administration is keen to include sustainable development goals in all its programs, plans and initiatives, which were designed and implemented by national cadres, in line with the requirements of development in the administrative field for the public and private sectors. She further pointed out that the Institute is currently working on developing various training programs and plans in line with future requirements, which are among its priorities, towards achieving the agenda and the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.
His Excellency Mr. Khalid Al-Maqwad, United Nations Resident Coordinator in the Kingdom of Bahrain, praised the Kingdom’s tireless efforts to align its plans and initiatives with the sustainable development goals He was pointing to the tireless work of the Institute of Public Administration to include sustainable development goals in all its training, research, advisory and other programs and initiatives. He added that these efforts contributed to raising awareness among national leaders in the public and private sectors, and integrating them into development plans, initiatives, strategies and the institutional work, which contributes to the Kingdom of Bahrain’s achievement of its desired ambitions at the development level, stressing the support of the United Nations country team for all the Kingdom’s programs and projects in order to achieve the sustainable development goals.
