Her Excellency Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Director General of the Institute of Public Administration and member of the Middle East and North Africa Organization for Public Administration and Research (MENAPAR), affirmed the importance of the research and knowledge industry, as a key pillar for the advancement the institutional work system internationally, adding that the Kingdom of Bahrain is keen to develop an integrated research system that supports policy-making based on research sciences, evidence, and the best international administrative experiences, which would contribute to the development of Institutional business strategies in the region, in a way that improves the services provided and achieves the aspirations of citizens.
Her statement came during her participation as a keynote speaker during the working sessions of the joint international conference between the Middle East and North Africa Organization for Public Administration and Research (MENAPAR) and the Association of Middle East Public Policy and Administration (AMEPPA), under the title “Policies, Governance and Leadership in Times of Crisis in the Middle East and North Africa”, which takes place from December 7th to December 10th, 2023 organized and hosted by the American University in Cairo – Egypt, and in the presence of a number of ministers, Their Excellencies, researchers, experts, and interested parties.
During her participation, Her Excellency Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa Al Khalifa explained that the Kingdom of Bahrain, represented by the Institute of Public Administration, has been keen since it established MENAPAR in 2014 to promote a culture of scientific research and academic exchange, and to establish networks of communication between practitioners and researchers at the local, regional and international levels through its local, regional and international partnerships, noting the need to enhance joint international cooperation in order to benefit from the best experiences and practices in the region related to facing and managing various challenges and circumstances.
It is worth mentioning that this year’s conference attracted more than 95 research papers and applied practices from 18 countries around the world, and the Institute, in turn, will work in cooperation with its partners to invest the results of the scientific research and the results emanating from the MENAPAR conference, thus contributing to building prosperous societies capable of managing future challenges.
