His Excellency Dr. Raed Mohammed Bin Shams, Director General of the Bahrain Institute of Public Administration (BIPA), reasserted the importance of exchanging expertise and best successful administrative practices relative to productivity enhancement strategies and mechanisms in both the private and public sectors as a tool to promote the GCC work system. He points out that outstanding and sustainable career productivity can only be achieved by zeroing in on the employee’s work performance. The tip was offered during Dr. Bin Shams’ participation in the events of the Seventh GCC Conference on Human Resources Productivity under the title “Outstanding Job Performance for Outstanding and Sustainable Productivity”, which was recently hosted by the Sultanate of Oman.
Dr. Bin Shams reconfirmed the fact that creation of positive and appropriate functional environment will contribute to increasing productivity and work efficiency, drawing attention to the fact that the Bahrain Institute of Public Administration (BIPA) is in active cooperation with all local and international partners in order to maximize benefit from all successful experiments from around the world with a view to enriching the training program offers to all employees of the government personnel and to enhance the role of the Institute in identification of the government training needs in line with maximum training standards to ensure production and performance quality.
Dr. Bin Shams drew attention to the importance of participation in all GCC conferences that target review of the best administrative applications, programs and practices that would ensure achievement of the GCC governments’ aspirations from its work plans and programs. He confirmed that Bahrain experiments in the field of public administration have been rewarded by great GCC commendation thanks to the government support for the plans and programs of the Public Administration Institute which offers appropriate training programs that suit the training needs of the government sector as they respond to accommodate the most recent administration methods and systems.
The conference featured a display and discussion of the successful experiments in productivity measurement and the extent of their impact on the work environment as well as on the employees in the various sectors and which realized achievements and success in this field. The conference also discussed a number of work papers presented by specialists and corporate chief executives on mechanisms to increase productivity and attain sustainable work development as well as the role of work environment on boosting personnel productivity.
Similarly, the conference discussed a number of important issues, including tools for measurement of career performance, linking such tools to effective productivity, innovative thinking, enabling productivity self-development, and boosting social development via programs to promote happiness at the work, employment of social media devices to stimulate productivity and the role of the work environment in enhancing productivity.
