Dr. Raed Mohammed Bin Shams, the Director General of Bahrain Institute for Public Administration (BIPA) stated that 40% of Secretaries and Undersecretaries who have been appointed in the Government sector, are graduates of the National Program for the Development of Government Leadership, provided by the Public Administration Institution (BIPA) to the Government employees at different levels of employment. He confirmed that the Institute through its National Leadership Development Programmes strives in cooperation with the Civil Service Bureau to link the professional development and level of development of capabilities, with career progression. His statement came during the meeting organized by the institute for training officials to present the Institute’s Training plan for 2020.
Dr. Bin Shams explained that 88 Managers, Secretaries and Undersecretaries have graduated from the National Program for the Development of Government Leadership. He stressed, that it is a basic condition and a priority in the career advancement, based on the directives of the Civil Service Bureau and in line with the Institute’s strategy, aimed at preparing and developing National Government leadership capable of raising the government outcomes, and achieve the Government Agenda for the Kingdom which raises the level of services provided to the citizens and meet their aspirations.
Also during the meeting Dr. Bin Shams, praised the strategic relations between the Institute and the training officials in the government sector. He said , they are today a key partner and a key driver in the implementation of national plans, steered by the economic vision 2030, through their contribution with the Institute in improving government performance. Explaining that the role of BIPA today is not limited to training, but much deeper role, which is to build capacities, develop national leadership and enable them to improve the government’s work system, along with training officials in various sectors in the government.
