The Royal Academy of Management concluded the “Future of Work in Government for GCC Countries” program, the first of its kind, designed for government sector leaders across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The graduation ceremony was held in Kuwait under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Essam Saad Al-Rubaian, President of the Civil Service Bureau of Kuwait, and attended by His Excellency Dr. Ali Bin Qasim Bin Jawad Al-Lawati, President of the Royal Academy of Management, Her Excellency Dr. Shaikha Rana Bint Isa Bin Daij Al Khalifa, Director General of the Institute of Public Administration of Bahrain, along with several officials and experts from across the GCC.
The program saw participation from all GCC countries and was executed in partnership with the Institute of Public Administration of Bahrain and the Civil Service Bureau of Kuwait, in collaboration with the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford. This initiative is part of a strategic effort to enhance Gulf integration in government development, achieve national visions, and prepare for the future by equipping leadership with the skills to tackle emerging challenges using the best global practices for sustainable development.
The program journey included ten remote-learning modules delivered in Arabic and three in-person modules focused on strategic and leadership topics such as public administration, project management, business analytics, and digital transformation. Key discussions also covered change management, adapting institutions to the digital economy, enhancing team leadership efficiency, leadership strategies, and future readiness.
In his speech at the ceremony, Dr. Ali bin Qasim Bin Jawad Al-Lawati emphasized the importance of investing in mid-level leadership development, describing it as a crucial pillar for achieving sustainable and innovative government transformation. He highlighted that the program provided an integrated learning experience, blending modern theories with practical applications to empower leaders in developing innovative solutions that enhance institutional efficiency and advance national visions across the GCC.
Dr. Shaikha Rana Bint Isa Bin Daij Al Khalifa stressed the significance of regional collaboration in designing strategic initiatives aimed at leadership development and fostering innovation in government operations. She commended the Royal Academy of Management for its pivotal role in strengthening Gulf integration through this groundbreaking initiative.
At the conclusion of the program, participants unanimously agreed on the need to continue GCC cooperation and develop joint initiatives that enhance efficiency and innovation in government work. They also praised the collective efforts that contributed to the success of this initiative.
