Her Excellency Dr. Shaikha Rana Bint Isa Bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Director General of the Institute of Public Administration, affirmed that Gulf efforts to support the empowerment of women and enhance their leadership roles within the institutional framework of both the public and private sectors are ongoing. The impact of these efforts has become increasingly evident through the policies and initiatives that have empowered women’s leadership roles, making them key partners in the development process and in decision-making centers.
She highlighted that under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, may Allah protect and preserve him, and with the continuous support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may Allah protect him, along with the efforts of the Supreme Council for Women, led by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, may Allah protect her, Bahraini women have become a driving force in the development process. They play a pivotal role in achieving national plans, strategies, and initiatives aimed at advancing all sectors, both locally, regionally, and internationally.
This statement was made during Her Excellency’s participation in a panel discussion titled “The Journey of Women to Leadership in the Gulf States” at the “Gulf Innovators 2024” conference. The event, organized by Al Diwan Forum, was held at Harvard University in Cambridge, USA, and was attended by many prominent Gulf leaders from both the public and private sectors.
Her Excellency Dr. Shaikha Rana Bint Isa Al Khalifa emphasized that Gulf women benefit from a supportive environment for excellence and creativity, fostered by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. This environment promotes the advancement of women by supporting their role in economic development programs and their participation in joint Gulf efforts. The GCC has implemented shared policies, strategies, and systems aimed at enhancing women’s status and leadership roles within the institutional framework across various fields. She added that Bahrain’s comprehensive institutional framework has provided Bahraini women with all the necessary resources to support their progress and sustain their leadership.
The Director General of the Institute of Public Administration, while discussing her leadership experience and achievements on both personal and institutional levels, stated that these accomplishments would not have been possible without her belief that clear goals and working as a unified team are the foundation for achieving objectives and results. She emphasized that a leader, throughout their institutional journey, must invest in their team, ensuring ongoing development and growth within a cohesive and unified framework. The success of the institutional team, she noted, is a success for the leader and their institution.
