Institute of Public Administration (BIPA) received yesterday the participants of the 12th batch of preparation diploma program for the public sector, who amounted to 75 participants representing various government ministries and institutions. The preparation diploma program for the public sector aims at providing employees with the basic tools of skills, behaviors and essential knowledge for working in the public sector, in addition to creating a culture of excellence in customer service in the public sector, finally attaching public sector employees with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
Senior Director of Basic Development and Creative Learning Mr. Mohammad Al-Saba’a delivered a speech in which he noted the role of BIPA and its responsibility for the training of all employees in the public sector, in addition to the services of consultation and research. Mr. Al-Saba’a indicated in his speech, the importance of changing the ways of thinking for government employees through searching for opportunities, he added:”It is necessary for the new government employee to realize that the ability to change starts from him, and creating opportunities starts by continuous searching, as these opportunities are capable of refining his skills and gaining new knowledge as well as raising the professional level of the employee, to become a required person in the labor market”.
Also Program Coordinator Dana Al-Bu’erki gave a presentation about the program, which included the objectives of the program and what distinguishes it from other programs, where she said:”This program was designed by Bahraini experts who had a long service in the government sector, and were familiar with all appropriate fundamentals that should be available in all new recruits in government work, to help them to overcome difficulties and obstacles they might face in the beginning of their government work, and shorten the time and effort that could be wasted in identifying the laws, regulations and rules”.
She added: “The program includes 4 basic units as follows; definition of government work, effective action teams, communication skills and customer service, and finally, planning for the implementation of tasks and processes”.
Mrs. Al-Bu’erki explained that the program will continue for a period of two months, during which many courses and workshops that were designed in a creative and innovative way will take place, to attract participants and to achieve the maximum benefit from team work, citing the need for attendance commitment in order to gain the desired result after graduating from the program.
Mrs. Al-Bu’erki revealed that, for the first time a learning record in the preparation program will be activated and used, considering it as trainee follow-up record, in addition to the connection to the learning material, and the most important objectives to be achieved in each session, as well as assisting the trainee in the organization of time and linking what learned to the actual work and application.
Mrs. Al-Bu’erki also indicated that there is an assessment for participants before the start and after the end of the program, in order to monitor the extent of the positive change acquired by the participant from attending and participating in the program.
It should be noted that, preparation diploma program for the public sector is one of the compulsory programs by the Civil Service Bureau (CSB), where the fresh government employee should achieve this program, in order to be instated in his government post.
