Seef District –The Bahrain Institute of Public Administration:
The Bahrain Institute of Public Administration (BIPA) received participants of the 8th batch of the Diploma Program for the preparation for the public sector comprising 50 new government employees from various ministries and government bodies, in the opening ceremony held yesterday at the Institute.
In a speech delivered by the Executive Director of Business Development at the Institute of Public Administration Yusuf Al Bader, he stressed the role and objectives of the Institute and the link of its programs to the national strategy in order to activate this initiative. Mr. Al Bader revealed the development taking place in the program after being re-designed based on a study identifying the training needs carried out by the Institute, and the best international experiences in this field, in addition to the observations of previous graduates of the program, to have results appropriate to Bahrain and the needs of Bahraini employees.
The Diploma program coordinator Khaled Al Eid welcomed trainees, and showed them the rules and laws of the Institute. He revealed the extent of development of the program after the study prepared by the Institute, which described the training requirements that must be focused on, after several meetings with specialists and certified trainers. Where they reached the ideal model consisting of three main topics, I know, I care, I work, the basis of the four program modules, namely: introducing government work, effective work teams, planning for the implementation of tasks and processes, communication skills and customer service.
As regards the details of the program, Al Eid said that the program consisted of a series of short courses, lectures and workshops and to prepare the trainees for the practical responsibilities, they would be given the chance to carry out practical application which suited their jobs.
In this framework the trainee is given the means and methodologies to collect information required in each course from his/her place of work, and then return to participate other trainees with the information collected, in order to consolidate and strengthen the concepts acquired through training, in addition to enhancing the skills and behaviors through field visits to the reality of government work in Bahrain.
On the other hand, the Director of National Contact at the Economic Development Board, Isa Mubarak gave a presentation on the Economic Vision 2030 and the National Strategy, which described the general objectives which the government sought to achieve through some of the main tasks entrusted to the ministries of the State. Mr. Mubarak also confirmed that the strategy was the fundamental link that connected all ministries and state bodies in order to achieve goals that benefit the country and citizens.
The Head of Public Relations in the eGovernment Ali Darwish gave a presentation on the services provided by the eGovernment, and how to use them in ways that provide an easy and affordable to save time and effort for the citizens.
Noting that the Diploma Program for the preparation for the public sector is the first of its kind in the area and aimed to prepare the staff of the government sector to be engaged easily in their government jobs, and create a culture of citizenship and institutional loyalty, as well as create a culture of excellence in customer service in the government sector, in addition to linking public sector employees to the Bahrain Economic 2030.
