The Institute of Public Administration “BIPA” participated in the 17th periodic meeting of the officials of public administration institutions of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, which was held under the title (The National Experiences for Administration Leadership Development), under the patronage of the Minister of Civil Service and Board Chairman of the Omani Institute of Public Administration His Excellency Shaikh Khalid Al-Marhoon, which was held during the period 4-5 November, 2014.
BIPA’s representative in this meeting was the Executive Director of Learning and Development at the Institute Ishaq Ameen, who presented a working paper dealing with the experience of BIPA in the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of developing government leaders over a period of six years. Mr. Ameen mentioned the principles that the Institute’s experience was based upon and the foremost factors of programs success that have been implemented, and the experiments that can be transferred to other countries, especially the GCC countries. Also, the paper reviewed the general plans for the future and the new ideas that will be applied in the near future with regard to the development of government leaders.
On this occasion, Mr. Ishaq Ameen said that BIPA in the Kingdom of Bahrain has succeeded through concerted efforts, the grace of God and the experience and skills of its employees in designing and implementing a series of leadership training programs since 2008, and these efforts culminated in BIPA obtaining international recognition by a group of international institutions working in the field of leadership training, which is an essential mainstay contributing in developing the plans that enhance all programs and services offered by the Institute.
The audience praised the programs and plans offered by BIPA aiming at leadership development, and looked forward to obtain the most advantage of these programs to disseminate them in their respective countries. For his part, the Undersecretary of the Omani Ministry of Civil Service for Administrative Development Affairs Salim bin Muslim Al-Busaidi praised the advanced level of BIPA and its human capacities that are capable of designing and implementing the best leadership programs. Director General of the Omani Institute of Public Administration Zaki bin Hilal Al-Busaidi also praised the unremitting efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Bahrain in the development of public administration and building of programs aimed at developing government leaders in Bahrain.
