Director of Leadership Development at the Institute of Public Administration (BIPA) Khalid Al-Eid stressed on the importance of the field visits which took place between the participants in the new government leaders preparation program (cadres), which were allocated for a number of government institutions. Mr. Al-Eid pointed out that these field trips are an essential part of the program components; aiming at creating a network of communication between participants in the program, in addition to the exchange of knowledge and experiences and grasping the distinctive experiences and practices which can be shifted to other government institutions, in order to strengthen the integration for improving the government's work.
Director Al-Eid added that the government leaders preparation program (cadres) aims to employ these visits in the development of skills and abilities of the new government leaders, and assisting them in carrying out their responsibilities and job duties to the fullest, adding that such training programs will help in achieving the aspirations of the government towards preparing and rehabilitating a second line of leaders in the government sector.
Mr. Al-Eid said that the visits covered the following institutions: Central Informatics Organization (Geographic Information Systems Directorate, Department of Media and Public Relations), Ombudsman Secretariat (Information Technology Department), Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning (Sanitary Drainage Department, Human Resources Directorate), in addition to the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (Information Technology Directorate); because these visits hold great importance in building strong institutional relations that can contribute in facilitating government work, and agreeing on some joint projects which will contribute in simplifying procedures between government agencies.
It is worth mentioning that the new government leaders preparation program (cadres) is targeting heads of departments, groups leaders and those in their category in the government sector. The program (cadres) includes five main courses related to leadership and self-development, leadership and developing teams, shouldering the responsibility for the institutional development, taking care of customers and partners, accomplishment and achievement of results; in addition to the Civil Service Law and its implementation regulations. Furthermore, this program is implemented over a period of 12 weeks, as the participant is receiving after completion of graduation requirements, an approved certification from the Leadership and Management Institute in Britain (ILM).
