The Senior Director of Basic Development and Creative Learning at the Institute of Public Administration “BIPA” Mohammed Al-Sabba’a revealed about BIPA’s recent organization of an electronic lecture entitled: “the new educational revolution MOOCs and the scope of the role it plays in institutional work”, the lecture was held through live broadcast via the Internet and providing a link to the public sector employees inside and outside of Bahrain to join through using computers and smart devices, where 35 training officials of various government agencies participated in this electronic experiment along with a number of interested parties.
Mohamed Al-Sabba’a indicated that this experiment is the first of its kind in BIPA, and will be the starting point to take advantage of this new technology in Institute’s programs and courses in the future. Mr. Al-Sabba’a said that this lecture lasted about an hour and delivered from India by distance learning specialist “Preity Jasinanty”, who has nearly twenty years experience in the field of technological training and also she is a consultant in the field of designing learning principles at “TATA interactive systems” company, which is the world's leading in the field of Internet training and e-learning technology.
It is worth mentioning that MOOCs courses is a new development, represented in the use of modern technology in the process of distance learning and training, which began emerging at the beginning of 2012.
