Ishaq Al-Kooheji, Executive Director of the learning and Development Department at the Institute of public administration (BIPA) stated that the institute strives to develop its training programmes to keep abreast of latest technological developments in the field of training and administration. Adding that the Institute spares no effort to raise its training capabilities by bolstering the culture of self-learning among public sector employees in the Kingdom of Bahrain through a number of mechanisms including integration of simulation games in training programmes of the Institute.
This was announced on the launch by the Institute of public administration of its project “integration of electronic simulation games” in its training programmes.
Mr. Al Kooheji said that today “Simulation Games” have become one of the most successful and most effective means of e-training , therefore, the Institute has included it in its programmes in order to benefit from the many advantages in line with its directives and the objectives of the national programme for the development of government leaders. He further explained that that the integrating “Simulation games” in the training programmes of the Institute would provide a new learning environment, interactive and enjoyable, ultimately achieving its main objective of enhancing the Government work system and training via simulation, with considerable potential for individual and collective learning while taking into account the capabilities and the needs of the trainees.
Mr. AL Kooheji explained that the creative learning team at the Public Institute participated in a Pilot training programme for the “Integration of simulation games” into BIPA’s programmes, asserting that the trainees who have expressed their full satisfaction with the results of the training have welcomed the Pilot project. In addition, the trainees have stressed on the importance of providing “Simulation games” in the Institute’s programmes due to its direct link with development of Administration and leadership capabilities for employees in the Government sector.
The Executive Director for Learning and Development at BIPA, pointed out that the project “Integration of electronic simulation Games “ in the Institute includes many core themes of the training programme, i.e. Customer Service; leadership skill; Project Management in the public sector; Negotiation and Persuasion skills; and Resolution of Administrative issues among others. Al Kooheji affirmed that through simulation the employees will be cultured with the newly acquired skills that will force them to think more creatively and flexibly when facing challenges in their jobs.
