Dr. Raed Mohammed Bin Shams, the Director General of Bahrain Institute for Public Administration, “BIPA” affirmed that an agile and versatile leadership is an essential requirement to improving the government performance, pointing out that the Institute strives today through its program “Agile Leadership” to outline a clear administrative perspective and path to reach an institutional versatility and agility at the level of institutional and governmental work in general and leading towards institutional agility as a permanent culture in government work.
His Excellency’s statement came during the launch of the first edition of the program “Agile Leadership” that brought together an elite group of Undersecretaries and Assistant undersecretaries in the government work system, in order to stay on par with the future with its great accelerations and imperative new changes which are planned dynamically, interactively, and jointly.
H.E. Dr. Bin Shams added that the program will discuss the holistic and comprehensive definition of the concept of versatility in the Agile Leadership and means of governance in the public sector, and the latest and advanced methods used in developing government solutions and policies based on experiences and best practices in administration. In addition, he said it will present clear methodologies and tools to achieve the principles of versatile governance and agile leadership as well as its importance in anticipating the future of administrative work and support for the process of decision making.
Dr. Bin Shams explained that the program will serve as a qualitative administrative gathering of a group of senior leaders in the government work system, with the aim of providing space for dialogue and discussion on creating the future of the public sector in a participatory institutional form that brings together decision makers and decision takers in various sectors. It will also look at ways to employ modern concepts and sciences to keep pace with developments around the world and the public administration sciences in particular, towards upgrading the public sector and creating a fast and dynamic work culture that elevates the public services to match the aspirations, in line with current and future variables.
