Seef District –The Bahrain Institute of Public Administration:
The Bahrain Institute of Public Administration (BIPA) received the 16 employees constituting the first batch of participants in the professional level of Project Management Program who have completed the basic level from various ministries and government bodies. The program is offered in cooperation with Ernst & Young to meet training needs for such specialized programs that seek to refine and develop the skills of project management for government employees, which in turn is reflected on the quality and effectiveness of the projects provided by the government, especially with the huge number of projects that are currently being implemented by the public sector in line with the initiatives set forth in the National Strategy 2030.
The professional level of the program is providing a farsighted look and advanced fields of knowledge related to project management skills. It aims to provide the target groups with advanced concepts and technical skills in the project management as well as training to manage scenarios on vital projects, and enable them to cope with impacts and control of change and poor performance. This is in addition to making them better able to lead and to take critical decisions for the implementation of projects. On the other hand, the program aims to provide the trainees with skills of performance monitoring, the ability to take the right actions, manage stakeholder, contracts, and the implications of the success of the project.
The participants of the program attend eight training courses during 14 days of training spread over five weeks. The courses will address the most important topics of interest to workers in the field of project management which is project governance, developing plans for successful project management, the three restrictions and constraints of project management, contract and suppliers management, management successful working teams of the projects, effective communication of project management, improve the performance of the project and finally the tools of project management.
It is worth mentioning, that the Project Management Program is one of the specialized programs offered by the Bahrain Institute of Public Administration to meet the training needs of the public sector. The basic level 7th batch of the program will meet next month after the re-design of the program based on the observations of the previous batch in cooperation with Ernst & Young. The Registration Department at BIPA accepts nominations of ministries as of this month.
