Seef District – Bahrain Institute of Public Administration:
In the presence of HE Dr. Raed bin Shams Director General of the Bahrain Institute of Public Administration, the Institute graduated the fifth batch of 20 acting directors from various government agencies, who joined the diploma program preparing for the government leaders (leaders), which lasted for four months. The program is the embodiment of the Initiative No. 2-1-2-1 as part of the National Economic Strategy, which emphasized the importance of a program for the development and preparation of leaders in the public sector. This initiative is pursued and supported directly by the Economic Development Board and the Civil Service Bureau.
The participants over the 3 days presented their graduation presentations which reflected the extent and benefits of the program. The training methods varied between field institutional visits, case studies and self-learning by reading books on the subject of administrative leadership as well as e-learning. A series of meetings with experts in the field of leadership and management intended to achieve direct interaction with those leaders and benefit from their expertise and vast knowledge.
The internal and external evaluation committee hailed the level of the presentations that showed the creative energies of the participants who deserved to pass this program, which is one of the standard of selecting Director and leadership positions.
The program dealt with 5 main themes which corresponded with the needs of managers in the Kingdom of Bahrain, particularly in the public sector. These themes constituted visible part of the leadership circle in the Bahraini leadership model, which is to define the vision and leadership of the institution, the development of individuals and the development of their abilities. The third theme dealt with the governance of the organization and its development. The fourth theme focused on customer care and partners, and finally the fifth theme, touched on the fulfillment and achievement of results.
It is worth mentioning that the Institute of Public Administration has designed the program and presented it to a group of local and international experts in order to ensure its quality and scientific methodology. The program won international accreditation from the National School of Government in the United Kingdom
