The Kingdom of Bahrain, represented by the Bahrain Institute of Public Administration (BIPA), has presided over the International Institute of Public Administration Sciences (IIAS), which is regarded as the greatest and oldest nongovernment organization in the field of public administration development and human resources growth. This title which has been earned by the Institute is tantamount to a global Bahraini accolade and achievement in the field of public administration. The title will also further consolidate the status of the Kingdom of Bahrain and its ability to place its print on the field of public administration at the international level.
His Excellency Dr. Rayid Muhammad bin Shams, Director General of the Bahrain Institute of Public Administration (BIPA) reasserted the fact that presidency of the International Institute of Public Administration Sciences (IIAS) is a conformation that the Kingdom of Bahrain is forging ahead with leading the future of public administration at the global level. The Institute has worked hard and in record time to restructure and redefine the strategy of the International Institute of Public Administration Sciences (IIAS) in order to establish and formulate unified international agenda for the future of public administration in addition to the establishment of an international leadership project for international leaders by taking advantage of the Institute’s successful experience in the generation and design of academic and training programs that contribute to the promotion of government performance in the Kingdom of Bahrain and opening the door wide for exporting such programs abroad for the promotion of government administrative function system at the international level.
Bin Shams highly appreciated the efforts exerted by the staff of the Public Administration Institute and their sincere and genuine national endeavor that have enabled the Kingdom of Bahrain to place the Kingdom on the global map of interest where administrative sciences are concerned. He added that the Kingdom of Bahrain played a major role in the development of the public administration sector at the global level with the grace of God, particularly after the establishment of the Middle East and North Africa Public Administration Research Organization since the year 2014, which contributed to and facilitated the Institute’s networking and exchange of expertise with major professional and academic organizations such as the International Institute of Public Administration Sciences (IIAS), International Association of Administration Schools and Institutes (IASIA), the European Group of Public Administration (EGPA) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
It is worthy of note that the International Institute of Public Administration Sciences (IIAS) was established back in the year 1930, with branches and activities covering the continents of Europe, Asia, North and South Americas and Australia. Its membership includes countries, government organizations, academic institutions and individuals. It maintains a consultative chair in the United Nations Economic and Social Council Organization (UN ECOSO). The Middle East and North Africa Public Administration Research Organization (MENAPAR) is the representative of the Arab nations in the region.
