The Director General of the Institute of Public Administration H.E. Dr. Raed Mohammed bin Shams stated that BIPA started taking preliminary steps to design a Master of Public Administration Program which is planned to launch in January 2014, it is considered a strategic footstep to commence putting up more developmental programs that contribute to the creation of administrative excellence in order to achieve the economic vision for Bahrain 2030, this came during Dr. Shams meeting with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of QAA and presidents of a number of private universities on Thursday at the premises of the Institute at Seef District.
The CEO of QAA for Education and Training Dr. Jawaher Al-Madhaki commended the steps taken by the Institute to start designing master's program, where it came according to the National Framework for Qualifications, which QAA functions to implement and apply through systematic partnership with various education and training institutions in Bahrain.
The president of Al-Ahlia University professor Dr. Abdullah Al-Hawaj stressed that the emergence of the idea of academic program by the Institute of Public Administration came to meet the actual needs of the labour market, where the Institute is aware of the shortcomings and the manners of development that employees of the public sector need.
In the same context, the chairman of the Arabian Gulf University Dr. Khalid Al-O'hali expressed admiration and support to the approach adopted by the Institute of Public Administration through consulting its planned steps with experienced and accredited universities on tailoring an academic program, where seeking consultation and advice considered as a basis for success.
The Academic Director of the Bahrain Polytechnic Dr. Hassan Al-Mulla added that this program is one of the important programs for revitalizing the spirit in the government sector through strengthening employment levels by academic study, while the chairman of the Royal University for Women Professor Dr. Mazen Juma considered the program to be a grand national project that would yield abundant benefits to the employees of the public sector.
The meeting was also attended by the deputy chairman of the Al-Ahlia University for Administrative and Financial Affairs Dr. Wajeh Al-Ali, and the Dean of the Faculty of Management and Financial Sciences at the Royal University for Women Dr. Hala Elyas, and from the Institute the consultant of learning and development Dr. Sofyan Sahrawi.
It is worth mentioning that the meeting discussed the steps the institute intends to do to start designing this academic program, which is based on partnership with the private sector in first collaboration of this kind between the two sectors, the broad framework was identified for the program such as its objectives and main content and many details to be announced later.
