The Bahrain Institute of Public Administration (BIPA) has revealed that online training courses through E-LMS may save BD 1 million per year in the training budgets of Ministries and other Government Organizations. Online training courses provided by BIPA saved almost BD 80,000.000 in April 2016, with 500 civil servants completing free of charge online training sessions.
In line with the rationalization policy and new civil service systems, which encourage utilization of online training courses in developing employees, BIPA has provided a number of online training courses in various training areas and professions. To this end, programs have been designed to cover training needs for approval by the Civil Service Bureau and to be counted as part of the training hours for civil servants.
This action is compatible with the new strategy of BIPA, which has been inaugurated recently to further promote government performance in areas of policies, strategies, resource management, change and development of government services in accordance with approved mechanisms for training and development, including online training, as well as research mechanisms, consultations, assessment and guidance and strategic communications.
The training courses, for which registration may be made online through e-government portal (Bahrain.bh), focus on general skills of civil servants such as leadership basics, customers service, dispute resolution, development of administration skills, financial manual, and communication strategies, in addition to a set of learning clips and games designed to meet government business requirements in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
