The Institute of Public Administration (BIPA) announced offering young leaders preparation program “Takween”, which is a qualitative program within the national program for the preparation and development of government leaders, aiming at qualifying a second line of national leaders that enable government agencies to choose heads of departments or their equivalents within the administrative structures in the future, furthermore the program is targeting participants from the public sector in the positions of specialists, senior specialists and supervisors and their likes in the government sector. In regard to the objectives of the program, the Executive Director of Learning and Development Ishaq Amin Al-Kooheji stated that “Takween” program is aiming to discover public sector employees under head of department who have managerial and leadership characteristics for the position of head of department in the government after preparing them in an organized methodological way, pointing out that this program will contribute to the achievement of the goals set by the government under its action program for the years 2015-2018. Mr. Al-Kooheji indicated that the program provides an opportunity for participants to expand their network of contacts and develop their relations in a way that improves their work performance and enhance productivity and quality, as well as familiarizing participants with the main laws, policies and legislations governing employment in the public sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Mr. Al-Kooheji said that this program is presented for the first time in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and will discuss the Bahraini leadership model which determines the five roles of the administrative leader i.e. leadership, self-development and team-development, implanting responsibility in the development of the institution work and caring for partners and customers to reach the achievement stage and results accomplishment. Mr. Al-Kooheji added that the program includes several essential courses that enable participants to identify the strengths and weaknesses points in the personality and determining the personal vision and link it with organization’s vision, in addition to applying rules of creative thinking, also the program will address providing the right environment to enable staff to achieve the desired results in the work, and set up organizational culture in the institutional work and strengthening institutional values. BIPA’s Executive Director of Learning and Development clarified that young leaders preparation program “Takween” is characterized by relying on an approach of leadership personality building in accordance with the latest concepts in the field of leadership and management, in addition to the application of quality methods in training represented in the tests to determine personality patterns (psychometric tests) and personal counseling and guidance sessions (coaching), plus mixing between theoretical and practical techniques in training, adding that the program will train participants on building a culture of excellence in customer and partner service within and outside the organization and improving the current policies and practices in force, as well as the utilization of the available resources in the organization in a way that enhance effectiveness and efficiency to improve the work and taking advantage of the local and international standards of excellence to develop future plans to achieve the strategic objectives of the institution. Thus, BIPA calls upon all who wish to register for the initiative to register through human resource departments in their government agencies through the electronic registration system of the Institute, bearing in mind that the program will start on 11th October, 2015.
