Senior Director of Basic Development and Creative Learning at the Institute of Public Administration (BIPA) Mohammed Al-Sabba stressed that – during honoring public sector employees who were interacting to a great deal with the e-courses – the Institute has trained electronically 1,650 employees from various government agencies within a tendency to promote e-development in the government sector and carry on the leading role shouldered by the Institute in the field of e-training, whereas the e-training contributes in improving the job performance through keeping up with the developments in the sphere of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
Mr. Al-Sabba stressed that the initiative of honoring those employees who were highly interactive with e-courses, came in order to stimulate public sector employees on self-development and promote their administrative skills and abilities, as the boundaries of knowledge do not stop at the required cognitive capabilities and skills in accordance with the generally accepted job descriptions, but go beyond these boundaries to reach a point of sharpening up the personal skills, adding that there is a great need to increase the awareness of public sector employees on the importance of e-learning, especially with the technology and information revolution witnessed by the world today, which led to the emergence of modern mechanisms in the ways of acquiring knowledge and skills and in the means of transferring them, in addition to the strategies of their initiation, leading to ease of utilizing communication and information technology and malleableizing it to overcome restrictions of time and place.
Mr. Al-Sabba explained that the Institute seeks to establish an integrated electronic environment that allows continued training opportunities and enhance the capacities and administrative skills for the employees of the government sector through better use of modern technologies and the renewable training methods that contribute to raising the functionality level to improve the government work, adding that BIPA is always seeking to provide the best training programs to be the right partner in the development of civil servants.
It is worth mentioning that BIPA has provided, in cooperation with the eGovernment Authority, the e-training services on the National Portal i.e. Bahrain.bh, where these services allow employees to enroll in the online training provided in Arabic and English with the possibility of withdrawal from the pre-registered course or add another course electronically.
