Senior Director of Basic Development and Creative Learning Mohammed Al-Sabba stressed on the importance of creating administrative competences capable of development and change in the public sector, pointing out to the need for training new employees by creating a culture of citizenship and institutional loyalty in the government work, as well as furnishing staff with the basic means of skills, behaviors and basic knowledge for working in the public sector, creating a culture of excellence in customer service, and linking public sector employees with the economic vision 2030 of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which is sought by the preparation program for the public sector (preparation).
Mr. Al-Sabba indicated that new employees in public sector have excessive need for government work knowledge skills and to get acquainted with the basics linked to government's functions, which would lead the capacities of the new employees and invest in their capabilities towards improving the government work. Mr. Al-Sabba confirmed that the preparation program for the public sector (preparation), which is dedicated for the new employees, is meeting the training needs necessary for facilitating their involvement process in the government work.
Mr. Al-Sabba pointed out that the Institute of Public Administration (BIPA) has created a unique administration model for the public sector preparation program (preparation) entitled 3H, which focuses on three key elements in the administrative training i.e. knowledge, work and consideration through the model (I know – I work – I care). The knowledge part (I know) includes explaining for the new employees the laws and regulations of working in the government sector and linking them with the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, and to know their rights and responsibilities in their work, in regard to (I work) part, it includes rehabilitating the new employees to receive their work with ease through providing training on the work basics and tools, as for the care part (I care); it works to find the mind-set and creates a sense of responsibility for the new employees through providing them training on business ethics and institutional loyalty in addition to customer service.
The successful completion of the graduation project is one of the most important requirements for the graduation of trainees of the preparation program for the public sector (preparation), as through this project; it is made sure that trainees are familiar and acquainted with knowledge concerning the concepts and outputs of the program. Furthermore, BIPA used to present an award for the best graduation project in order to implant the spirit of competition, excellence and creativity in the employees of the government. The preparation program also include 4 units covering all training needs for the new employees in the public sector, and these units focus on the definition of working in the public sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as providing staff with the skills of working in teams, and supplying them with the basics of planning for the implementation of tasks and processes, in addition to communication and customer service skills.
