Director General of the Institute of Public Administration “BIPA” Dr. Raed Mohammed bin Shams stated that the specialized programs came to cope with the stage of development in resource management, as resource management is an important element to achieve quality in government performance, considering its development as an essential necessity to keep up with the aspirations of the Bahraini citizens, revealing the Institute’s keenness on continued development for project management program and professional certification program in the foundations of human resources and BIPA’s eagerness on the quality output to ensure higher performance, this came during a ceremony of the Institute to honor the graduates of the specialized programs.
From his part, the Executive Director of Learning and Development Mr. Ishaq Ameen explained that the professional certification program in the foundations of human resources was designed to enhance the skills of those working in human resources departments in the public sector, and defining to the participants the laws of the civil service in force in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as introducing to them the management information system used by the personnel management directorates in government ministries and institutions. This program is targeting the assistants and managers of human resources and line managers who take the responsibilities of supervision on staff and any person who wishes to engage in the field of human resources, moreover the participants’ professional certification in the foundations of human resources is accredited – after completing all graduation requirements – by the Australian Institute of Human Resources.
Mr. Ameen added that the Projects Management program at its basic level aims to enhance the capacity of workers and employees who work in the governmental projects management, and in its advanced level aims to enhance the capacities of project administrators and managers to carry out their assigned tasks in the government projects with high efficiency and ultra professionalism. The program includes three important modules namely; planning and the start of the project, implementation and performance monitoring, and finally ending the project successfully, in addition to the use of technology applications in project management. It seeks in general to achieve its objectives through identifying the advanced concepts and terminology in project management, and the ability towards projects’ effective planning, as well as the ability to lead teams to work efficiently, and encouraging them to implement the project successfully.
