For deepening the excellence, innovation and quality concepts in the government work, and in order to improve the quality of government services through the adoption of standards and awarding the distinguished, Senior Director of Basic Development and Creative Learning at the Institute of Public Administration (BIPA) Mohammed AlSabba’a stated that the qualified projects for the Institute’s award for best project in the preparation diploma program for the public sector (Batch 14); were distinct projects and innovative systems reflected promising competencies in the government sector, which need the attention of the specialists in various government ministries and institutions and to be identified and applied on the ground.
Mr. AlSabba’a added that these projects deserved reaching final qualifying stage on the basis of achieving the desired goals of the preparation diploma program and the degree of meeting the requirements for qualifying based on the stages of various assessment, since the five projects were varied in their ideas and the methods of addressing a number of located complexities, in addition of having different developmental proposals for some other government services, where one of the participating groups in the preparation program invented the electric connect system project “Alrasid” to fall within the e-government system and included suggestions and experienced complaints by the citizens and residents, whether in writing or by photography.
In regard to the submitted projects, Mr. AlSabba’a explained that the second project was an advancement of the current recruitment process through converting the current in place process to electronic service in order to save effort and time, in regard to the third project; it is an electronic system as well, but for recording attendance in government schools, which saves time and effort for teachers, registration specialists and school administration. The fourth project entitled “healthy food in schools” which aimed to change the diets currently provided in schools to be more healthy, in addition to spreading the culture of awareness of good nutrition and healthy living among students and parents in order to avoid many of the health problems in later stages, as for the last project; it suggested lighter weight of school bags for better health, so as to address the problem of the current heavy weight school bags and find alternative electronic solutions to this problem.
In the same vein, the Assessment Committee commended the submitted presentations and the different new ideas which reflected the ability and creativity of a promising generation, who is conscious about the various problems, thus the Committee emphasized the need for the integration between the experience and the efficiency of the older generations, and the enthusiasm and the ideas of the new generations in the different functional levels to achieve distinct government outputs, noting that the differences are obvious in the presentations levels for all groups since the start of the preparation program until reaching the qualifying level, especially that taking advantage of the content of the program was evident in the development of projects and participants’ presentations skills.
It is worth mentioning that BIPA will announce the winner of the Institute’s award for the best project in the preparation diploma program for the public sector (Batch 14), at the graduation ceremony to be organized shortly, furthermore, the registration for batch 15 is still on-going, where the program will start on the 7th of next September.
