The Institute of Public Administration (BIPA) adopted personal counseling sessions in a number of the specialized programs, after achieving participants' objectives in both programs; government leaders preparation program (leaders) and new leadership preparation program (cadres), where the Executive Director of Learning and Development Ishaq Ameen stressed that the personal counseling sessions, which were held under the leadership programs reflected positive results effectively, in terms of the level of government performance by participants from various government ministries and institutions, prompting the institute to disseminate the experience to the specialized programs similar to leadership programs.
Mr. Ameen added that the Directorate of Training and Development at the Institute decided to adopt a process of personal counseling, as a main part of training, because of its importance in bridging the gap between the current and the required level of the participant in the performance, productivity, and achieving the desired results, through guidance, motivation and development, he also indicated that the process of personal counseling helps participants to be illuminated about their personal and professional goals and achieving them, as well as developing an action plan and ways to overcome obstacles that may hinder achieving what they wished for.
Mr. Ameen also stressed that the Institute's training programs obtaining international credentials does not eliminate the need for the continued development of these programs, so to find out the latest training methods and inclusion in the training plans aiming at developing government work in various government ministries and institutions to get an output of high quality, in accordance with the trends and directions of the economic vision of the Kingdom of Bahrain 2030 and the National Strategy.
It is worth mentioning that BIPA has received the 9th batch of leaders program, and 20 participating directors has undergone personal counseling sessions during last week with certified trainers, thereafter the Institute is receiving the 10th batch of the program next August.
