The Director General of the Institute of Public Administration (BIPA) Dr. Raed Mohammed bin Shams stressed that the visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa to China has opened up new horizons, to take advantage of the Far East model in general and the Chinese model in particular, pointing to the need to access such deep-rooted experiences and attempting to positively integrate them in the government action, especially it has become the focus of attention and consideration of many developed countries, this came during his meeting with the Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Governance in the People's Republic of China Mr. Honq Way.
Bin Shams said that the Institute is seeking to form a strategic partnership with the Chinese Academy of Governance, through the signing of a cooperation agreement aimed at sharing experiences in the preparation of leadership cadres, consultation and research development and setting of government policy, stressing on the superiority of the Chinese experiences which will be an added-quality in the field of fine-tuning of the Bahraini cadres in the attributes of public administration at the local and global levels, noting at the same time that this cooperation will be the starting point for many academic administrative projects between the two sides.
Bin Shams also revealed the Institute's serious desire in engaging the Chinese experience into the design of Master of Public Administration program, which is the first of its kind in the Middle East, where it will be implemented in collaboration with a local university and endorsement by the most prestigious international universities in the field of public administration.
For his part, the Vice President of the Chinese Academy stressed on the importance of such visits in the development of work through identifying the experiences of different countries, welcoming the visit of BIPA's delegation to China, which emphasizes the keen interest of the Bahraini leadership in establishing cooperation and exchange of experiences, praising the distinct progress and achievements attained by BIPA at the international level, particularly through the hosting of the 29th International Congress of public administration, which was held last June 2013.
The meeting was attended by the Executive Director of Development and Learning Mr. Ishac Amin, the Director of Institutional Communications Mr. Hassan Qamber and the Acting Director of Strategic Communication Mrs. Nijood Al-Atawi.
