The Institute of Public Administration (BIPA) received the Head of Strategic Planning at the Ministry of Works, who is specializing in project management, Engineer Raja Al-Zayani, in the context of benefiting from external expertise and work on linking the training material with the actual and real government projects in order to strengthen the capacity of participants to carry out planning, implementation and follow-up of their projects efficiently, and in a professional manner as well as at a high quality, as this trend comes with the re-design of the program in collaboration with the “Ernst & Young” to accommodate the new training needs of the government sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Mrs. Raja Al-Zayani met with 23 participants – in the start of the second unit of the program – and spoke about several themes of interest to participants such as components of proper communication, major supportive points, communication in initiatives management, communicating from the operational level to the strategic level, consensual participation in decision-making, and the importance of strategies management in supporting the necessary Institutional development.
Mrs. Al-Zayani mentioned the mechanism to support the institutional performance and the role of communication, which is reflected in the longer term to make a paradigm shift from the traditional key management to the strategic horizontal management, the thing which accomplishes an important part of achieving the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
In the same vein, the Program Coordinator Mr. Faisal Al-Khayat said that the participants have completed the first module of the program, which included planning and the start of the project. With the start of the second unit related to implementation, performance monitoring and successful closure of the project, a meeting was held with engineer Mrs. Raja Al-Zayani to speak about the importance of communication and cooperation in the project because of the need to familiarize participants with the various methods of communication and the importance of communication for the success of any project.
It is worth mentioning that the participants at the end of the program were offered a certificate issued by the Institute of Public Administration in collaboration with Ernst & Young, in addition to a certificate accredited by the Project Management Institute (PMI), which qualifies them to enter the examination of the Project Management Professional (PMP).
