Dr. Raed Mohammed bin Shams inaugurated the 2nd batch of the new government leaders preparation program (cadres) with the participation of 20 employees from various government agencies. In view of the fact that this program comes within the national program for the preparation of government leaders, which is considered one of the initiatives set forth in the national economic strategy for the development of government action.
Bin Shams, in a statement delivered to the participants, revealed that this program is primarily designed to suit the needs of departments’ heads category and the like, and highlighted the significant role associated with the work of this group and its ability to change and set the government work in action.
Dr. bin Shams also explained that the selection process of the participants by the arbitration panel came in order to ensure picking the elite and capable category to take responsibility and do the required change in government work.
Dr. bin Shams stressed the importance of applying what participants will learn in the program of proper fundamentals and rules that develop and create a new generation able to make an ideal environment serve the country and citizens.
The Executive Director of the leadership programs Ishac Ameen also delivered a speech, in which he explained the hard work exerted by the team to come out with this program's output, which is suitable to the training needs of each person in charge, working in the public sector.
Mr. Ameen also indicated that the program in its first batch had received a good reputation and its indicators of success came high, that 6 graduates from the previous batch were promoted to the position of a manager. Furthermore, about 40 candidates from various authorities have been nominated for this program, out of which 20 participants were selected only.
In a presentation performed by the Executive Coordinator Khalid Al-Eid, he explained the objectives of the program which is focused on achieving the objectives of the government in accordance with the Economic Vision 2030, and the development of administrative capacity and leadership skills of participants and preparing them for further career progression, as well as providing participants with the necessary tools for self-understanding and understanding of others, as well as working to grow a communication network to develop participants relationships, and provide the opportunity for the participants and their institutions to exchange experiences, and to identify the main laws and regulations governing the work of the government.
Mr. Al-Eid added that what distinguishes the program from other programs is that it was designed by Bahraini hands based on a study of identifying training needs for public sector employees, in accordance with a clear and simple model which can be understood and easily applied, in addition to that the program provides adequate interaction between participants over a period of 12 weeks, also the participant receives personal counseling to help him overcome some of the difficulties that might be encountered in the work environment.
Moreover, Mrs. Maha Abdul-Hameed Mufeez from the Economic Development Board and a graduate of the program cadres of the previous batch delivered a statement where she indicated the big and the positive change she acquired and the benefits obtained after graduating from the program where she said: “The program is a golden opportunity for all participants that comes on a platter of gold, and the big advantage we have gained is invaluable” and added: “This program explained to us many issues concerning leadership techniques, and how to take advantage of the strengths in our character and properly employing them in the work environment, and strengthen our weaknesses.”
Mrs. Mufeez Also confirmed that the program refined the personalities of participants where they became able to receive criticism and remarks, and use them in the right way, in addition to the social relationships that formed during the period of the program in such a way that facilitated for participants to work and finish some transactions away from the complexities that may exist in government work, without prejudicing the followed order and the law.
Mrs. Mufeez advised participants to the necessity to apply all that will be learnt in the program in their work, to get the most benefit and observe the positive change on their work.
Mrs. Farzaneh Al-Maraghi of the General Secretariat of the Higher Education Council, who was appointed to the position of Director for the research directorate after graduating from cadres program said: “The program has changed our way of thinking and made us see the picture clearly and fully, by linking all our goals and work to the vision 2030, as well as the pattern of our daily business has changed from being a mere daily office works to a long-term strategic planning serving the interest of the department's objectives that are related to the objectives of the ministry, which sought to be achieved by the vision”.
Mrs. Al-Maraghi added: “program's benefit is beyond the hands-on benefit, in my own opinion the program had me realize that an individual can change for the best by developing his thought and change pattern of thinking, we felt a great responsibility towards the country as it counts on us being a new generation that is capable to change, produce, contribute and deliver.”
