The Institute of Public Administration (BIPA) received yesterday the participants of the 11th batch in the preparation diploma program for the public sector, who amounted to 52 participants representing various government ministries and authorities. The program is aiming to provide employees with the essential tools of skills, behaviorism and basic knowledge of work in the public sector, in addition to creating a culture of excellence in customer service in the public sector, and finally linking public sector employees with the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
The Director General of BIPA Dr. Raed Mohammed bin Shams delivered a speech in which he emphasized the significant role played by the Bahraini employee in the development of government work, to serve the homeland and the citizen. Dr. bin Shams focused in his speech on the issue of innovation in government work, prompting participants to carry out their job duties, and not to allow routine work and the surrounding environment to distance them from the creativity issue and achievement of objectives, noting that every citizen – no matter how small his job is – impacts negatively or positively on the government work.
Moreover, the Program Coordinator Mrs. Shaikha Butti gave an introductory presentation about the program included the objectives of the program and differentiation from other programs where she said: “This program is designed by Bahraini experts who have a long service in the public sector, and was acquainted with complete appropriate foundations that ought to be met in each new employee in government work, to help him get through the difficulties and obstacles that he may face at the beginning of his government work, and shorten his time and effort which may be depleted in recognizing laws, rules and regulations. ”
Mrs. Butti indicated that the program will continue for a period of two months and will include many courses and workshops which were designed in a creative and innovative way, to attract participants and achieve greatest benefit of teamwork, noting the need to adhering to attendance in order that each participant gets the desired result after graduating from the program.
Mrs. Butti revealed that the theme of creativity in government work has been added in the program, because of its significant role in changing the pattern of individuals thinking and the positive impact on their working experience, also there will be an assessment for the participant before the start and after the end of the program in order to monitor the extent of the positive change the participant gained through his presence and participation in the program.
Also, the founder of Synectics Information Technology Company and the winner of the title the youngest Bahraini inventor in the Arab world Mr. Nawaf Saeed was hosted, who brought into light the essential ways to enhance creativity, and the steps to carry out innovative work, stressing that the young Bahrainis in nature are creative, but lack the final step to achieve creativity.
It is worth mentioning that the preparation diploma program for public sector is one of the mandatory programs by the Civil Service Bureau, where the new government employee has to pass these programs in order to be instated in his government job.
