Director General of the Institute of Public Administration Dr. Raed Bin Shams stressed, at the closing ceremony of the 7th batch of the preparation diploma program for government leaders (leaders), on the importance of officials' support and follow up to the Institute's programs which is considered an essential step for creating leaders and achieve change aspirations of the Institute, as well as the significant impact on consolidation of principles and objectives the “leaders” program seeks to achieve, extending thanks to participants for attending and interacting in the discussions of the meeting, Dr. Shams also focused on the importance of communication between participants and to keep up a network of relations after the end of the program.
For his part, the Executive Director of leadership development program Isaac Amin stated that leadership program has encountered great acceptance since its inception in January 2010, and still retains a high level of satisfaction between participants and officials, accordingly the total number of program graduates until the end of the 7th batch amounted to more than 140 directors of various government agencies and ministries.
The final meeting was the last event and activity of the program, which began last January and lasted for 4 months, where the concluding meeting was preceded by final presentations carried out by the 7th batch participants who amounted to 17 directors from the public sector, focusing on modern leadership skills which acquired during the program period, in addition to the practical applications that have been exercised, participants also reviewed the 100-day plan that follows program's graduation.
At the concluding meeting Dr. Raed Bin Shams honoured program's official lecturers who possess a long experience in the public and private sectors and contributed since the first batch of the program in providing training activities, in addition to their pioneering role in conveying knowledge and achieving one of the most important goals and strategies of the program to rely on national experiences in the field of leadership and public administration in our beloved country, the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The participating directors in their interpositions stated that the program has contributed to mutual benefits and exchange of ideas, which facilitated professional relationships among them as a team between ministries and agencies that they represent, and that the program has opened the opportunity for personal guidance, where participants benefited from professional advisers and mentors concerning their own career matters and even their family life affairs.
It is worth mentioning that the final meeting has been added for the first time in this batch, to invite senior officials to attend with participating officials in order to discuss the effects of the program, and to support directors in the application stage in the work-field at the after-program stage, to be involved in the implementation of the recommendations and plans the participants obtained from the program, and provide them the opportunity to put forward and implement their practical ideas and apply the skills acquired in the workplace.
