The Institute of Public Administration hosted yesterday “Tuesday,” the 14th meeting of Directors Generals of Institutes of Public Administration and Management Development in Gulf Cooperation Councils (GCC) countries, where these periodic meetings come to support the march of joint action in the field of administrative development, and to keep up with the set visions and strategies in order to enhance the role of leadership and develop local capacities position to improve government work in the region.
At the outset of the meeting, the Director General of the Institute of Public Administration in the Kingdom of Bahrain Dr. Raed Mohammed bin Shams delivered a welcome speech, in which he praised the outputs of the continued meetings of the Directors of Institutes of Public Administration in GCC countries, which came to establish public administration culture in all government fields, and contribute significantly at the same time to enabling Employees in their different positions.
After that the agenda was reviewed which touched on the recommendations of the 12th preparatory meeting of the GCC affairs coordinators at the institutes of public administration and management development with regard to the report of the implementation results of the institutes' e-training course carried out by the Institute of Public Administration in the Kingdom of Bahrain in collaboration with the Secretariat and Distance Training Committee, in addition to presenting the proposals of the Institute of Administrative Development in Qatar concerning developing and identifying procedural definitions for administrative terms, and the designations of organizational structures of government agencies in the GCC countries, as well as discussing previous recommendations that have been adopted in the preceding periodic meetings and congresses.
Furthermore, their Excellency institutes' Directors were briefed on the arrangements and preparations carried out by the Institute of Public Administration in the Kingdom of Bahrain for holding the 29th International Congress of Public Administration, which will take place in the period from 1 to 6 of next June, undisputed on the importance of participation in the Congress, considering it as a qualitative advantage for the region in the field of administrative development, under its discussion of the topic entitled the future of public administration between professionalism and leadership.
It is noteworthy that the meeting of Directors Generals was preceded by an annual meeting of the GCC affairs coordinators to follow up the recommendations issued at the meetings of Directors Generals and develop a working program to implement those recommendations, with reviewing the extent of Institutes' application of the recommendations and the strategic decisions that are implemented in a continuous manner, in addition to discussing the dates and topics of the meetings and seminars and the degree of suitability for achieving the desired objectives.
