The Institute of Public Administration received participants of the ninth batch in the diploma preparation program for the public sector, whose their number amounted to 50 new government employees, at an opening ceremony, which was held yesterday at the headquarters of the Institute.
The diploma preparation program for the public sector is considered the first of its kind in the region, aimed at training and qualifying public sector employees to engage in their government work easily and effortlessly, and create a culture of citizenship and institutional loyalty in the government work, as well as creating a culture of excellence in customer service in the public sector, in addition to linking public sector employees to Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030.
In a speech delivered by the Executive Director of Business Development, Mr. Yousef Al-Bader stressed the role and objectives of the Institute and the relation of its program with the national strategy in order to trigger strategy initiatives, which emphasizes the importance of human element in the growth and development of human societies.
Moreover, the program coordinator Shaikha Butti welcomed the trainees, and explained the rules and laws in place at the Institute. Mrs. Butti clarified that the program will be implemented over 21 training days, which makes a total of 100 hours of training. She explained that the program includes four main units, as follows: defining working at public sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain, working in a team, planning to carry out tasks and processes and finally communication skills and customer service, besides these four units include several courses related to main themes.
In regard to the details of the program, Mrs. Butti pointed out that the program training technique will consist of a series of short courses, lectures and workshops, and a way to prepare trainees for practical responsibilities, also will provide an opportunity for a trainee to carry out the necessary practical applications as required by his work.
She added: “the trainee will be given techniques and methodologies which through them, the trainee would work to collect the required information in every situation of his work, then returns to share with other trainees the information he gathered, so consolidating and strengthening the concepts acquired during the training, in addition to enhancing the skills and behaviors through field visits to the actual sites of government work in Bahrain.”.
Notably, the Institute of Public Administration will receive nominations from various ministries and government agencies to register in the tenth batch of this program, which will be re-launched next November.
