The Acting Director General of the Bahrain Institute for Public Administration (BIPA), Mr. Najm Salemeen stressed the importance of the national program through which the Institute seeks to improve the system of government work by developing its cadres and enhancing the level of their abilities and skills. He pointed out that the Institute seeks today, through the Leaders Program specifically, to develop a strategic leader who has the ability to make policies and achieve outstanding performance indicators in various fields.
His statement came on the occasion of the redesigning of the Leaders Program, which targets public sector managers and those who are in the same capacity.
Mr. Salemeen explained that the redesigning of the program came to emulate the national aspirations aimed at raising government performance and investing in competent human cadres. He pointed out that the improvements included the addition of English language to some subjects besides the Arabic language, as well as changing the requirement for passing the program from the preparation of government strategies to the preparation of new public policies, or the improvement of a work policy currently in use, or evaluate a government work policy.
In terms of simulating cognitive advances and scientific developments, artificial intelligence and organizational thinking have been added to the recently introduced Agile Leadership curriculum. “Leading high-performing teams” has also been added to the Leaders curriculum, and “Personal and Organizational Flexibility” to the Communication and Interaction curriculum.
