His Highness, Shaikh Ahmed Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of the Customs, affirmed that the cooperation with the Bahrain Institute for Public Administration, BIPA, in organizing the “Coaching” Project for the development of National leaders at the Customs Affairs comes in the context of the joint government interest, unified strategic visions aimed at raising the efficiency of government cadres and upgrading the outputs delivered to meet the aspirations of citizens. In addition, helps to achieve high levels of institutional performance in line with government directives for the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the agenda for National Institutional work.
His statement came during the Institute for Public Administration’s organization of a virtual meeting to honor the graduates of the “Coaching” Project, which was presented to eighteen (18) managers from the Customs affairs affiliates.
His Highness, the President of Customs, stated that the “Coaching” Project, which was executed with the aim of developing and enhancing the managers at the Customs Affairs and contribute to pushing the wheel of Institutional strategy towards further success and push these managers to achieve higher levels of Institutional performance in line with the Governments directives for the Kingdom of Bahrain and the national institutional agenda.
His Highness added that the project also endeavored to boost the institutional communication in all its directions in general, and among its managers and the teams in particular. He said, the Project has provided the managers the opportunity to learn their points of strength and how to invest them in achieving the institution’s Strategic vision. Adding that the Customs affairs as a National Government edifice aspires to transform each employee into an inspiring and effective leader capable of managing his responsibilities and contributing to the achievements of the institution as a member of a distinguished team.
For his part His Excellency Dr. Raed Mohammed Bin Shams, the Director General of the Bahrain institute for Public Administration, BIPA, stated that cooperation between the Institute and other various Government entities contributes in raising the government outputs and provides opportunities for cadres of official institutions to gain the foundations of success and career development. He affirmed that the cooperation between the Institute and Customs Affairs reflects as an example and a model of the joint national enthusiasm to unify the strategies of government work in order to raise national aspirations in terms of institutional work.
His Excellency Dr. Bin Shams, pointed out that the “Coaching” Project for the Customs Affairs was met with great success and positive resonance among the participants, where by eighteen (18) managers participated in the project, they received 90 sessions at a rate of 5 session for every participants spread over a period of 4 months, starting from October 2019, up until March of this year. He confirmed that participants showed 100% satisfaction whereas the average rate of general satisfaction of the coaching sessions was more than 90%.
Dr. Bin Shams added that the Bahrain Institute for Public Administration, BIPA, believes that Coaching is a Methodology for Modern Administration, which can enhance the capabilities of the national cadres and raise the productivity. He pointed out that the training of Managers and Heads of departments in Coaching skills in itself strengthens communication between the managers and their subordinates and develop the relations between individuals in an Institution which by itself contributes to raising the performance of employees and motivates them to achieving the Institutional strategy.
