His Excellency Dr. Raed Mohammed Bin Shams, the Director General of the Institute for Public Administration (BIPA) stressed on the need to raise the level of happiness in the government work environment and to ensure its sustainability, considering essentially the role of the employee, with the rise in the level of productivity and quality of institutional work.
He explained that the committee established by the Institute in 2009, strives today basically to create a practical approach that raises the level of Happiness at BIPA and develops appropriate indicators to measure the effect of happiness on the employees in order to come up with scientific results that assist in drawing long term future plans assuring sustainable government happiness.
Dr. Bin Shams pointed out that the Institute for Public Administration has endorsed a model for achieving happiness based on caring for various aspects of the employee’s life at all levels: work environment, personal and social life, innovative and development skills and psychological and physical health.
He further added, that this model focuses on bolstering the Institutional values aimed at stimulating happiness: like giving; participating and leading the institutional work, in order to reach high levels of productivity while performing tasks and achieving the satisfaction of customers dealing with official institutions, which will be positively reflected in the level of economic returns for government work and on the process of sustainable development in the Kingdom in general.
Dr. Bin Shams stated that the Happiness Committee is an essential and authentic part of the integrated system of the Institute for Public Administration, which by its self is regarded as an appropriate and stimulating environment for the dissemination of happiness on both the internal and external level.
He explained, that the members of the committee work with complete support of all the employees at the Institute for Public Administration, to achieve the Goals of the Happiness Agenda, as the Institute witnesses significant cooperation between all parties in executing the creative initiatives, which merges happiness into the core function of BIPA and achieves the central goal of the committee which is the provision of a happy and positive work environment.
