The Minister of Cabinet Affairs: Government leaders are the backbone of sustainable development, and investing in its development means investment in the future of government work
His Excellency the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Mohammed Bin Ebrahim Al Muttawa, affirmed that Government leaders are the backbone of the sustainable development, and that investing in its development means investment in the future of Government work, which is the main driver in implementing the Government’s Program based on the comprehensive vision of His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa. His Majesty’s Vision aims to achieve the future aspirations and the basic pillars of government action, namely the Sustainable Development Goals 2030, the Economic Vision of the Kingdom of Bahrain 2030 and the Financial Balance Program, as the main tools in the preparation of the government’s work program.
His Excellency, made the announcement while presenting a lecture entitled “Government Program in the Government Work System” for members of the Leadership Program provided by the Public Administration Institute (BIPA) during the National Government Leadership Development Program.
Minister Al Muttawa pointed out that the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain is continuing to keep pace with the global trends in government work and anticipate future changes, towards achieving the economic vision of the Kingdom of Bahrain 2030. He Added, that the future of government work in the Kingdom of Bahrain requires a continuous process of development focused on the citizen, by building his capabilities, improving his expertise and performance, and enabling him to help meet the challenges ahead enabling him to achieve the government’s agenda for the Kingdom of Bahrain and meet the aspirations of citizens by raising the quality of government services provided.
His Excellency, the Director General of the Bahrain Institute for Public Administration, Dr. Raed Mohammed Bin Shams, stated that the National Programme for the development of Government leadership is a scientific and administrative approach, designed to meet international standards and in line with local needs. He added the programme is an administrative approach that meets the future aspirations of the outputs of Government work, through the preparation of national leadership and building administrative competencies capable of developing frameworks in government agencies to keep pace with the directions of the government work system. Dr. Raed added that the national program works to give the national cadres affiliated with the program, the opportunity to come up with government projects and initiatives that go into achieving the objectives of the national program to develop government leaders in order to achieve the interests and benefits of Bahraini society and enhance the kingdom’s position as a regional and international center for various cultural, intellectual and scientific productions.
Dr. Bin Shams added that investing in the government employee and providing the factors of success for him in various fields comes with the recognition of the importance of the citizen and his central role in all fields of development and improvement and raise the pace of wok to match the pace of development of Government work in order to achieve the objectives of the Government agenda. He pointed out that the meaning of ‘Leadership” in government work is not limited to titles or positions but it is an ever evolving intellectual approach and system based on forecasting the future and anticipating its variables and preparing for developments and to deal with them wisely and efficiently.
