H.E. Dr. Raed Mohammed bin Shams, Director General of the Institute of Public Administration (BIPA) stressed that the support of researchers and academics, and the development of scientific capabilities is vital to the achievement of the Institute’s government strategy to invest in human capital in the Kingdom Bahrain. Which will contribute to the preparation of research cadres to support the Kingdom’s agenda and its march towards a future based on scientific research and the use of research methodologies to improve government performance, by developing new research methods and opening channels to connect the sources of knowledge and those interested in the field of scientific research.
His Statement came on the occasion of the launch by the Public Administration Institute of its service “Research” (Ibhath)s, a portal that provides scientific support for postgraduate students in the Kingdom of Bahrain who are in the process of implementing their planned research projects as a requirement for their graduation.
Dr. Ben Shams said that the service “Research” (Ibhath) will bolster the local scientific research efforts, support researchers and academics while developing the scientific capabilities through transfer of knowledge in multiple fields to Postgraduate students and making available accurate data and information in a timely manner. He explained that this service is among other services upgraded by the Institute for Public Administration (BIPA) as part of its strategy to develop the Kingdom’s capabilities of scientific research to raise the Kingdom’s status in research and scientific proficiency in order to bolster the private and public sectors in the Kingdom.
Dr. Ben Shams further explained that the consultancy and research department at BIPA, aims to simultaneously reach a wider percentage of those who are interested locally in the field of scientific research as well as attracting inventors, pointing out that the “Research service will also focus on promoting the principle of “Creative Thinking” which is one of the important scientific methods in finding solutions and reaching the facts. The service will also help University students to benefit from the research support provided by The Institute through various facilities like Logistical Support, Access to Research Data (primary and secondary), access to research participants, to publish their results as needed according to the Institute’s assessment, And to publish their results through various research related events and symposiums organized by the Institute of Public Administration or other events as per the Institute’s requirements.
