His Excellency Dr. Raed Mohammed Bin Shams, Director-General of the Bahrain Institute of Public Administration (BIPA) has stated that BIPA successfully achieved government revenues exceeding 140,000 Euros by transferring its experience in the field of electronic training to local governments in Africa. This success is the result of BIPA’s employing of its expertise and international partnerships to design and develop electronic training content that can be applied to all countries of the world after its successful implementation in the Kingdom of Bahrain and winning international awards in this field. Dr. Bin Shams made this statement during the signing of a cooperation agreement between BIPA and the Organization of United Cities and Local Governments in Africa.
On the sidelines of the agreement signing ceremony, Bin Shams said that BIPA has become a major contributor to the country’s revenues and the economic development process in the Kingdom of Bahrain thanks to the vision of the wise leadership and the government. These efforts are in line with BIPA’s third value, which calls for achieving inspirational leadership exceeding aspirations to build a productive government work ecosystem and contribute to the Kingdom’s revenues.
Bin Shams pointed out that BIPA has taken steps forward in the field of e-training, the latest being joining the Amazon Web Service (AWS) among the first government agencies in the Kingdom of Bahrain by hosting the electronic training system (LMS) on Amazon’s cloud computing. This sheds light on the role of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of public administration in the region. He added that this achievement avails 98% of the annual cost of the training programs provided by the Institute, taking into account that the cloud computing services give BIPA the opportunity to provide its training services at a lower cost, more quickly, and at a more impactful scale.
