The Scientific Committee at the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS) and the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA) in Brussels announced the acceptance of 276 out of 322 working papers, presented to discuss the main theme of the 29th International Congress on Public Administration “The Future of Public Administration: professionalism and leadership”, and the number of working papers abstracts from the Middle East amounted to 75 abstracts of which 60 abstracts were from the Kingdom of Bahrain, which indicates a growing awareness and interest by the region in general, and Bahrain in particular.
The practitioners of public administration, researchers and academics from the Kingdom of Bahrain will participate in offering and presenting 49 working papers revolves around various issues concerned with the future of public administration, the equivalent of 78% of the participation papers from the Middle Eastern region, in a clear indication of the leading role played by the Institute of Public Administration – at the regional level – in spreading the culture of public administration and bringing into view the importance of Administrative Sciences in improving government performance and excellence in providing citizens' desired services.
Furthermore, these participations have covered many aspects of sub-themes of the 29th International Congress on Public Administration, which included the risks and future strategies, leadership in the future and providing innovative services in the future, in addition to nine working groups to discuss essential topics, including energy management, education and training programs, and financial management and others, as these themes aim to focus on the future aspects of public administration to face the challenges in the public sector in order to limit or end up them depending on the outcomes from the Congress of recommendations and suggestions that experts and researchers will participate in laying them down.
