45 participants in the leadership programs of the 8th batch of the leaders program and the 2nd batch of cadres program underwent psychometric test applied by the Assessment Center at the Institute of Public Administration (BIPA), which aims to assess the staff, especially incumbents of senior positions in order to support the development of personal efficiency.
The Executive Director of the Assessment Center at BIPA Mr. Nader Al-Khalili announced that the psychometric testing is a prerequisite of the requirements for accessing leadership programs at the institute, which consists of a series of questions that measure employee behavioral preferences in the work environment.
Mr. Al-Khalili also indicated “During the meeting of the working group with participants, the main objective of the testing was explained which is to measure personality characteristics, which is an essential part for the development of individuals in leadership positions through the personal guide who provide a copy of the reports, for the purpose of standing on participants personal qualities and helping in their development.”
Mr. Al-Khalili indicated that the test brings international standards of several professional benefits, most importantly, it contributes to devising the development plan for the employees, also makes it easier for the staff in human resources directorate towards decision-making in the selection of new staff for appointment and instating in government jobs, especially senior positions.
He added that the psychometric testing is not limited to employee's job benefits only, but also to define the most important points of strengths and weaknesses in his character to be able to use and improve them in a positive way that affect his occupation in his line of duty.
It is worth mentioning that the Assessment Center has started its first work at the beginning of this year, and has finished applying the psychometric test to about 200 employees in the public sector. The center became a key supporter for the development of assessments in the Institute's programs since its inception in the beginning of 2012, emanating from the believe of the Institute of the important returns of assessment on the public sector, such as reducing the proficiency gap, and to optimize usage of national cadres.
